In the mid and late 19th century, composers such as Berlioz and Wagner extensively used cymbals in their compositions, and not just any cymbals. Indeed, they specifically indicated that only Zildjian cymbals be used. It was during this period that cymbals gained an important and permanent place in orchestras. Inspired by a Turkish tapestry from the same era, these illustrations of percussionist silhouettes celebrate this major milestone.

To celebrate its 400th anniversary, Zildjian is launching a clothing and drumstick collection, available only in 2023, paying tribute to five major milestones in the company's history. From the discovery of the alloy to the key moments that have brought the brand to where it is today.
